What's new?

Well, actually not much! We are still in Mission and enjoying the slow passed lifestyle. We had a farewell potluck dinner for Mike and Pat McFall about 2 1/2 weeks ago. There was so much good food and even though we can't eat everything that is being offered because of our diet, there is always plenty for us to eat and we so much enjoy the company of good friends.

To be a little bit more social we attended a "Wine and Cheese Tasting" that was hosted by some of the ladies from Retama Village. The theme was to bring either a bottle of wine or some cheese from the area that you are from or spent time this summer. Some of the wines were so delicious, some of them a little bit dry for me, but it was still very interesting to taste wines from different parts of the country. I would definitely go to Michigan to have some of their Cherry wine. It was soooooooooo good. We stayed for about 1 1/2 hours and heard the next day that the party finally broke up around 8 pm. A good time was had all.

Next was Valentine's Day and the activity committee had gotten a chocolate fountain. I know it is not on our diet, but we just could not pass up the chance to dunk a piece of fruit in freely flowing chocolate. It was so delicious!!!

The following Monday we were invited to spend some time at Larry and LaVila's place in Mercedes. They have a very nice spot in a well established park there and we all had a very good time.

Since the weather has been a little bit cooler (low 70s) and cloudy, we decided to treat our rig to a thorough bath to wash of the caked on dust that had gathered the last six months. I can't believe that we have been in this rig already six months. It was a well deserved bath and the rig looks beautiful.

We had another farewell dinner for Mark and Dale Bruss last Thursday. Slowly but surely, people are starting to pack up and head back out to spend the summer where ever the wind blows them. We have not decided yet when we will leave. First we are going to spend a week in March at our timeshare in Orlando with Doug's brother and sister-in-law. It should be a lot of fun. When we come back I can hopefully finish our tax return and then we should be able to head back out ourselves. We are going to explore some of the southeastern states this year, but probably decided where to go as we go along. It took me a while to get used to not having a plan, but it also leaves you free to stay or move on whenever you feel like it.

As you guys know, we bought a new hitch in January and after Doug applied some black touch-up paint on the old hitch, I put it on Craig's List to see if we can't sell the old one. Well, we really did not think that we would have any luck before we leave for the summer, but got an inquiry about it last week and actually sold the hitch yesterday. Of course, we had to go out dinner to celebrate the sale.

So that is about all I can think of that has happened in the last three weeks. As you can see, we are doing things, but they just don't seem as interesting as the stuff we do and see when we are traveling.
